State library challange 1
World Book Encyclopedia for kids.
This is one of my favorite resources to use with library classes. I like that there are links directly from the kids version to the Student and Advanced so that kids don't have to start all over with a new search. For student research I like the 'citiations' sections at the bottom and that they are formatted correctly for them. For use in classes I like the amount of pictures and videos that are included and the links to primary sources that are in the Advanced pages. I often use the 'compare' places on the Kids page. When a state or country comes up in  a story or project many students find it interesting to compare that place to South Dakota.

  1. Hi, Amy! We are glad you are finding ways to use World Book at your school! How do the articles in Kids compare to the articles in Student? What kind of info did you find when you looked up a country in Advanced? What did you discover about World Book Discover? Thanks for sharing how you use World Book. We look forward to the answers to the questions posed. Thank you!

  2. I like the longer, more specific articles in both the Student and Discover versions. I like that students do not have to start over in order to get to additional information. For teachers, the content standards can be very helpful. I like the County information that starts out with a 'just the facts' type of info.
